How to get a visa?

Starting from May 30, 2022, Russian travelers will be able to travel to Indonesia with a visa on arrival — Visa on Arrival for Tourism.
You don’t need to apply for a visa in advance. It’s issued upon arrival to the country - for example, at the airport on the island of Bali. To obtain such a visa you need:
  • Have a passport with a period of validity of at least six months.
  • Show a return ticket to Russia or any other third country.
  • Show insurance with a coverage of $25 000 ⁣ (1 427 315 rubles).
  • Pay a visa fee of $35 ⁣ (1998 rubles) or 500 000 Rp⁣ (1950 rubles).
A visa on the arrival gives you the right to stay in Indonesia for a month. It may be prolonged for one more month for $35 ⁣ (1998 rubles). So, in total, you can spend no more than 60 days in Indonesia.

Rules for obtaining a business visa are different. If a traveler planning to spend more than 60 days in Indonesia, they need to apply for a B211А business visa.
Documents for a visa are submitted on the website of the Indonesian Immigration Service. You don't need to go to the embassy. Having such a visa, you can stay in Indonesia for 60 or 180 days, depending on how long the visa is paid for. For 60 days, you will have to pay a visa fee of 2,000,000 Rp⁣ (7800 rubles), and for 180 days - 6,000,000 Rp⁣ (23,400 rubles). An additional fee for processing documents is $50 ⁣ (2855 rubles).

What about accommodation?

Villas are the most popular places of accommodation in Bali. Villa is a trendy house that has a modern design, all the amenities, a swimming pool, garden, and barbecue area. More expensive once even have direct access to the beach. There are three types of villas: middle-class villas, Balinese-style houses, and luxury villas. The cheapest option is Balinese-style houses. They don’t have much innovation, are made with religious motifs, decorated in the stylistic image of the island, and more reminiscent of a small house. For a comfortable stay, it is better to choose the middle-class option, where you will have all the amenities and, in most cases, a pool and 1-2 bedrooms. As for the cost, a good one can be rented for $ 180 per day, if you are interested in long-term rental housing in Bali, then you can pay up to $ 1,300 per month for a place that can accommodate up to 4 people and has a pool. As for luxury options, multistory houses with a personal driver, a chef, and accommodation almost on the ocean will cost up to $ 450 per day. Even an upscale apartment can never be compared with a villa located in the middle of green rainforest.

How to start a business?

The first difficulty that future businessmen should anticipate is choosing a director. A registered company is required to be directed by a local resident.
Bali is far from ideal for business. You can always feel the local bureaucracy. Most licenses in the country are free, but you won't be able to get them for free. Also, according to Indonesian laws, to obtain a license, it is mandatory to have an office with IBM. It must be located in a commercial building (business center, industrial complex, etc.).
Prices for starting a business in Bali start at $2,000. The exact amount depends on many factors: type of company, license, location, etc.
The conditions are not as warm as the climate on the island, but despite this, many still manage to open their own business without difficulty and feel at home on the island.
